Bruce Gavin

Bruce P. Gavin is an accomplished Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professional with over 20 years of international experience in mining, construction, and fast-moving consumer goods industries. He has held senior leadership roles in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United States, where he has consistently improved safety performance, reduced injury rates, and strengthened organizational safety cultures. Bruce’s expertise spans risk management, legal compliance, auditing, incident investigation, emergency preparedness, and training. Bruce Has a strong record of driving continuous improvement in complex and highly regulated environments. He holds a Master’s in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Newcastle, complementing his background in organizational psychology.

Throughout his career, Bruce has demonstrated a passion for protecting people and fostering safe, efficient workplaces. His leadership has delivered measurable results, enhanced safety management systems, and innovative strategies for worker engagement. In addition to his professional achievements, he has earned recognition for his community contributions, receiving a 2017 Australia Day Award. With a proven ability to lead diverse teams and influence positive outcomes across culturally varied and unionized workforces, Bruce brings a rare combination of technical knowledge, strategic insight, and people-centered leadership to his role at Milford Mining.  When he isn’t working he enjoys spending time with his family, hiking Utah’s red rock trails and slot canyons, as well as volunteering with local nonprofits.
